The organised make up bag

I have never been one of those girls with a perfectly stocked make up bag in their handbag. One of those girls that with the slightest sound of "does anyone have..." has already pulled out a grub free make up bag and answered everyone's prayers. God, normal I don't even have a bag for my make up let alone a well planned contents!

However, today is the day for change... I will be organised and I wont break my shoulder carrying 50 lipsticks around by the end of the week. So here is what my make up bag looked like pre-organisation:

It basically consists of products that I'm not bothered about using everyday because I often leave it in my locker at work. We have got...L'Occitiane hand cream, free out of a magazine but I love it and will for sure repurchase, tissues, chewing gum, a empty sample of double wear, 3 coral lipsticks and a coral gloss, Sleek suede blusher and a awful brush from a Benefit box'o'powder, Benefit Boiing concealer, 17 metallic eyes in wild nude and of course some HG balm carmex original!

Off to the bin goes the Benefit brush and the empty sample pot...its a start!

The new plan is to have a staple bag containing great multi-use products and then changing colour items. The big rule.... one lipstick in... one lipstick out!

Things that have stayed are the hand cream, tissues, gum, carmex and Boiing. Boiing is a great make-up bag concealer because its light enough to use as a foundation but good coverage for redness and under eyes.

New additions are 17 BB cream because its great for freshening up make up when it starts getting dry and Chanel Limited edition bronzer from last year, because it is a bronzer, blusher and face powder all in one and the brush is far, far better than those awful Benefit ones!

The current colour items in my bag are... a plum L'Occitaine lipgloss I got free with this months glamour, Mac Shygirl, because I'm trying to justify to myself that I wear nudes enough to buy 'a perfect day' from the new collection (don't lie, we all do it!). An awful lip liner from Collection 2000 which is probably on the way to the bin (if anyone can recommend a good nude lip liner let me know) and the Chanel Eclosion palette from the spring collection. This is the only thing I have bought from the spring colours and it honest is the best eye palette I have ever bought, and possibly the best Chanel product I have bought, it hasn't left my eyes since I bought it!

And yes, I have just noticed that I still actually have 3 lip products in this 'steam line' make up bag.... turns out you cant teach an old dog completely new tricks!

Wow, how much do I wish these stick on pearls from Chanel s/s 2012 were coming out next year?! They are just beautiful.

My new love... Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet

So girls, I have to admit it... I'm in love! In love with my new lipstick! I got the new Rouge Allure Velvet in '33 La Distinguee'

I literally cant tell you how luxurious this lipstick feels. They aren't super matte just shine free, and not drying in the slightest, if anything they hydrate alittle. I picked a neutral colour so I would wear it loads. 'La Distinguee' is a slightly coral natural red, similar to the famous 'mademoiselle' colour from the original Rouge Coco range. The colour lasts much longer than the shiny lipsticks I'm used to, roughly about 4/5 hours.

If your feeling like a bit of luxury check this range out, atleast go try them at the counter, they really are beautiful.

Chanel Autumn/winter 2011-12 Collection

Got some very exciting pictures of the Autumn Chanel colours, and of course the new must have nail varnish colours. I love Chanel's seasonal colours!

Soleil tan de Chanel...

It finally came....Chanel 'poudre soleil 4 lumieres'. Of the two '4 facettes bronzing powder' I chose the Rose colour which is very unusual for me to pick pink over coral, but the dark brown in the coral scared me to death... it the very dark!

This blusher seems to go on really dark with the brush it comes with, but hardly at all with my own blusher brush :S but I think it will just take some getting used to.

The colour is beautiful, you can customise it to be quite coraly (like in the above photo) or rose or bronze. The darkest bronze also makes a great contourer.

Its going to be perfect for holiday because its a blusher, bronzer and highlighter in one.

Of course with it being Chanel the product lasts for ages on the skin and the powder is a beautiful light texture! GAWD I love Chanel!

No sooner had I bought my goodies from Chanel spring collection when a friend of mine sent me this picture of the summer colours.....

I DIE! To be honest its like in was designed for a 'bronzer obsessive', 'nude nail varnish loving' Chanel-aholic like me.

Its out in May and I'm counting down the days...

Friday's Chanel purchases

On Friday two great events collided, pay day and Chanel's spring colour launch.... its safe to say my bank account took a battering!

I bought the limited edition eye palette 'Ombres Perlees de Chanel' (£39) shown below and the varnish 'black pearl' (£17.50)



The eye shadows are very soft and because of this go on way better with a sponge applicator so dont bother trying to use a fancy brush. The colours had a very metallic finish to them which could put some people off, it you dont like the shimmer I really recommend the spring quad too.

The white/pearl shadow makes the eyes look loads bigger and brighter and the darker colours can make a really unusual smokey eye because they are slightly green. I think the colour I might use the least is the middle purple just because I have an irrational fear of purple eye shadow, but at almost £8 a shadow I might force myself!

I love the new varnish colour, which for once has come out alright in the photo, its a dark green/grey colour, with a metallic finish. The varnishes have great hold, mine has been in almost in perfect condition since Friday! The only problem with this colour is that the whole world and its wife has bought it at Boots so we all look like twinnies!

Chanel spring colours 2011

I got a sneaky peek at Chanel's new colours for spring at work the other day and I just have to say that I was mentally bankrupt after seeing them!

The new 'must have' varnish is "Black pearl" and I absolutely have to get my hands on the eyeshadow palette 'Ombres Perlees de Chanel' which can both be seen in the picture. There is also a beautiful Rouge Coco lipstick in a matte peach, a colour that looks set to be seriously on trend for spring/summer. The new collection comes out at the end of Janurary.... soooo excited!

Coco Chanel will be turning in her grave!

Cringe!!!..... So I have final opened it, and its been placed between the gorgeous Chanel Allure and Coco Mademoiselle. What am I on about? I'm talking about one of the most embarrassing things I'll ever admit to buying.


Britney spears perfume, Midnight Fantasy (which I have to mention was only £7.50!)

To be honest, its actually quite nice. Very very sweet so you have to like that sort of thing but I do and for possibly the cheapest perfume I've ever seen that didn’t make my eyes go red, I'm pretty impressed. Therefore its blingy and tacky bottle has taken pride of place next to my other favourites on my dressing table........... and will stay there until I have guests!!!
